DEAR STUDENTS. IT SEEMS MY DAYS OFF SCHOOL HAVE STARTED A LITTLE BIT SOONER.

1ST A AND B ESO

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT GRADES AND PROJECTS. WE WILL DO THEM FOR NEXT EVALUATION. I HAVE YOUR GRADES ALREADY. YOU DO KNOW HOW THEY CAN BE. IN 1 A I AM HAPPY, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN DO BETTER... WITH 1 B YOU KNOW HOW THINGS ARE. TALK TO YOUR TUTOR.

LET´S STUDY

Let´s learn and practise relative clauses.

Relative clauses

You have exercises to review your understanding. You can go to the song when you are finished.

2ND ESO

Please, listen and read the text of the song. What happened to the person in the song? Did he have a happy Christmas? What was his/her problem? How are they going to be this year?
Write in your vocabulary section those words you didn't understand. Then answer all the questions above.

Write about your plans for this Christmas. Are you going to travel anywhere? How do you celebrate Christmas if you do?

You will have to give a writing to me after Christmas about one of the best days during your past Christmas, and the best day this coming ones.

You can go ahead and watch a very common Christmas film. Enjoy it.

Lyrics
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognize me?
Well it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I Love You" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now I know you'd fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man undercover but you tore him apart
Maybe next year,
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
Special, someone, someone
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
Who'll give me something in return
I'll give it to someone, hold my heart and watch it burn
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone special
I thought you were here to stay
How can love be for a day?
I thought you were someone special, gave you my heart
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone
Last Christmas I gave you my heart
You gave it away
I'll give it to someone, I'll give it to someone

DEAR STUDENTS. FOLLOW ME FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS!

Hello everyone! As you can see, I haven't been at school this week. Do not worry! I am with you in my thoughts and hopefully in yours. So I have something for everyone.

2 BACHILLERATO STUDENTS

You have a Selectividad test to finish for this week. DO NOT FORGET!!!
Why don't you take advantage of these days to review verb tenses in the link you have with exercises? Come on and do it!!!

1 ESO A BILINGUAL

This entrance is only for this group. Since you have almost finished this evaluation with me, I want you to fill the following rubric. What is a rubric? It is a document to evaluate this Term.

Do not forget about your presentations!!! You will have to do them all before Monday! So Thursday and Friday, presentations days.

Come on! You are almost there! Holidays will be your reward.

IMPORTANT: You are going to have to read another book for next evaluation. You can start buying it, either through internet or talking to your best bookshop in town! Which one is it?

I am sure you know the series. Know the author. He is a lot of fun!

1 ESO B BILINGUAL

Hi dear students. I have been told you complained a lot about your "Christmas Carol" exam. I have to tell you. If I tell two groups to do something at the same time, and one does it, the other some do not, there is something wrong but do not fool yourselves! It is not with the teacher in this case. Think about your performance in this evaluation. I am sure you find a lot of room for improvement.

Well, since you haven't had time to read it, right after the Holidays I will redo the test for the following evaluation, Of course, the grade you got in the test on Monday it will be part of your poor grades in this first Term. The important thing to me is that you learn about this author, novel in this important period in history, and not so much your grades. You should be concerned about that when you study and you do not get your expected results. If you do not study, the results are what they have to be; BAD.

Besides that rereading task for these Holidays, you will have to start thinking about the one meant to be for the second Term. It is right in the entrance for 1st ESO A, but SPECIALLY FOR YOU, here you have. The book you have to read it is "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid", Jeff Kinney. You can take a look at 1ESO A entrance to see the author. Make sure you buy the first book of the series. There are many, nine or ten, I am not sure.

2 ESO D STUDENTS

Hello dear pupils. How are you? Patryk, make sure everyone reads this entrance, please!
You will have the test on Friday, but only on Unit 2. You know that next evaluation we have to put a bigger effort so we can keep up with the current syllabus. Make sure you finish all the exercises from your workbook, and you have your blog entrance. THAT IS FROM LAST WEEK!
In the second part of January, we will have a test on "King Arthur" book. Do not worry. We have already read part or most of it some of you. We will talk about Arthur's Legend and will be able to do a good test.

See you on Thursday and for now I leave you this entrance so you can listen to some English speaking music. Enjoy!

DEAR STUDENTS 1 ESO BILINGUAL

The test you have on Monday is about:
- Mainly A Christmas Carol book.
- Charles Dickens and the Victorian Era.
If you have any problems, go back in the blog and look for the entrance to that presentation.

Cheers!

DEAR 2º ESO D STUDENTS

As I told you, there are several things for you to do during this weekend.
The first thing you are going to do is an entrance in a blog. I am the one who writes in this blog, but a blog can be used to make it work as a diary. If you take a look at page 26 in your student's books, you can help yourselves by looking at the entrance in exercise 3.
These are some tips to write your blog entrance. You can choose any of the days of this long weekend, and write an entrance on what you did or what was special about that day. Go ahead and enjoy!

"The most important sentence in any article is the first one. If it doesn’t induce the reader to proceed to the second sentence, your article is dead." William Zinsser

1. Be Short and Direct.
2. Write a Catching Opening Sentence or Paragraph.
3. Ask a Thought-Provoking Question.
4. Shorten Your Sentences, If Possible.
5. Use Simple, Yet Precise, Words.
6. Make Your Post Unique.

Take a look at the following video to understand what a blog is and how to use it.

When you finish going through my blog entrance, do exercises from your workbook, page 20. You are ready to write your own entrance to a blog. Cheers!!!!

If not, my email address is mnievesllinares@gmail.com THIS IS VALID FOR EVERYONE! We can discuss it over there if you want.

I do not have the Teacher´s book to include the solutions to exercises in the book for unit 2. I will as soon as I return to school. But good news. I am telling you as I told the six students that came yesterday to class: Listening on Monday next week. Reading about something related to what we have seen so far. And writing will be AN OPINION ESSAY. Easy right?😏

PRIMERO ESO A Y B

Hello my dear students. You have several things to do without me! If you have the Christmas Carol book in class, read it! Pay attention to the words you do not know and write them down in your notebooks.
Project. You can start working in your projects today! If you need access to internet through your mobile phones, you can show this to your Guarding Teacher (sorry for you too...).
Keeeping up with unit 2. Continue with Vocabulary section after the reading. Take a look at Relative Clauses in Grammar section and if you have any doubts, take note of them to tell me when I am back.
Have a great day!😃

SEGUNDO ESO D

Hi good fellas. If you do not know what I just told you google it! 😎
You had homework, remember. Pages from the Student's book on Present Continuous Used as Future exercises, and exercises from page 17 on the same.
Do them please! If you did not have time, of course.
If you did, read page 23, Culture Summer Camps. You cannot do exercises, they are listenings. But go to pages 126-127. I was for one month over there, so I can help you "To feel " the city!
Write the words you did not understand in your notebooks Vocabulary section!
If you finish, and you have your Workbook, do page 98, but the listening. We will check them when we review this unit. If you do not have your workbook, you should, homework..., but you have photocopies, ask a partner his or her Workbook and take a picture, with your Guarding Teacher's permission! You can show them this blog.

Have a good Tuesday!
